Course Syllabus

Welcome to class!  This course began on Wednesday, October 12th and will end at 11:59pm ET on Tuesday, October 25th.  All required assignments must be submitted and graded as complete in order to receive a final complete grade for the course.

GRADING:

  • This course is graded on a Complete/Incomplete basis. In order to successfully earn a course grade of "Complete," you must earn:
    • A grade of "Complete" on each discussion board (which requires earning at least 75% according to the grading rubric).
    • A grade of "Complete" on the course project (which requires earning at least 75% according to the grading rubric).
    • A grade of "Complete" on all other manually graded course assignments (which requires earning at least 75% according to the grading rubric).
    • A grade of 100% on all quizzes

If you earn a grade of Incomplete for the course, you will need to retake the course in order to earn credit and a fee will apply. This can be arranged with our help center team.

Your Course Facilitator will respond to emails / postings (either on the board and / or with a grade) by the end of the next calendar day after submission.  Course Facilitators will grade Course Projects / other original written material within 48 hours of submission.

Assignments that are graded "Incomplete" must be edited and / or resubmitted until a "Complete" grade has been earned.  Please confirm that all assignments are "Complete" several days after submitting each assignment, and before the course closes.

DUE DATES:

The due dates for each part of the course project are designed to help you manage your time so that you complete and submit the project on, or before, the due date.

Please also note the following:

  • You are not required to adhere to the milestone, interim due dates. The due dates are to help you plan your time accordingly to get the most out of the course.
  • Unless specified otherwise, you will not submit individual portions of your project until you have fully completed and then submit it in its entirety.
  • Submitting the final, completed project after the due date / time will not impact your grade, but may impact the amount of feedback you will receive.
  • You will not be able to edit / resubmit your project after the course ends, unless an extension has been granted by your facilitator.
  • Please be certain to submit your completed project in the format as directed within the project instructions.

PLAGIARISM:

Please review eCornell's policy regarding plagiarism (the presentation of someone else's work as your own without source credit).

CONTACTING THE FACILITATOR:

You can contact your facilitator via the “Canvas InBox” icon located at the top right hand side of this course.  You can also ask them questions by selecting the “Help” icon and select the “Ask Your Instructor a Question” option.

COURSE TRANSCRIPT:

There is a downloadable pdf course transcript available in the Course Resources module.  This does include transcripts for all videos as well.

REMEMBER:  The More You Give, The More You Will Receive

The discussion boards are for sharing ideas and exchanging information -- much like you would in a traditional classroom discussion. Personal experience has demonstrated that with respect to online learning, the more you engage in the course -- beyond mandatory postings -- the more value you will derive from it. In this spirit, please revisit to the course after you have posted to see what others have said, and to respond to any questions that may be asked of you, or of everyone.
